What Is MAP Growth?

MAP Growth is an adaptive assessment that adjusts in real time to each student’s performance. It begins with questions aligned to the student’s current grade level, then becomes easier or more challenging based on their responses. This approach ensures a personalized testing experience that accurately measures what a student knows—whether they’re performing at, above, or below grade level.

The test uses the RIT scale, an equal-interval scale that allows us to track growth over time, from one school year to the next. This provides valuable insights into student progress and helps teachers make informed decisions about instruction.
