Colegio Americano de Ciudad Juárez: 35 Years of Bilingual Excellence

For over three decades, Colegio Americano de Ciudad Juárez has stood out as a leading bilingual and bicultural institution. Our mission is rooted in awakening potential and educating with heart, offering students an environment that values critical thinking, creativity, and global awareness. Backed by internationally recognized certifications like MAP Growth and Versant, we prepare our students to meet global challenges with confidence, integrity, and academic strength.

Our mission is to educate in order to awaken and liberate. We provide instruction grounded in knowledge and education guided by heart—nurturing academic excellence, emotional intelligence, and personal growth.

We aim to be a leading educational institution, recognized for our excellence in bilingual education and for developing responsible, globally-minded citizens prepared to make a positive impact in the world.

We believe mistakes are valuable opportunities for learning. Our approach fosters critical thinking, creativity, and collaboration in a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment.

For 35 years, we’ve built a legacy of academic excellence and holistic development. We offer a bilingual-bicultural education, strong global perspective, and internationally recognized certifications—like MAP Growth and Versant.

MAP Growth (Measures of Academic Progress) is an adaptive test that adjusts to each student's level. It uses the RIT scale to measure what students know and what they’re ready to learn. It tracks growth over time, helping educators and families support each student’s learning journey effectively.

The Versant Test, developed by Pearson, is an automated, AI-powered assessment aligned with the CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages). It certifies English levels from A1 to C2 and delivers fast, accurate results. Taking the Versant test at Colegio Americano provides students with a trusted, professional setting and reinforces our commitment to international academic standards.

The English skills I acquired at Colegio Americano have allowed me to better understand and perform in my professional field. Most of the latest medical literature is published in English, so having an advanced command of the language is essential. It also enables me to communicate more effectively with my patients.
When I think of the school’s extracurricular activities, I remember the wide variety offered—tools that continue to serve me in everyday life, such as ballroom dance, theater, and painting.

I attended Colegio Americano for elementary and middle school. Remembering those childhood years brings a mix of nostalgia and joy. In elementary school, I learned English largely thanks to Mr. Israel Sierra from Chicago, Illinois. In middle school, it was Ms. Diana who greatly influenced my language learning.
I earned a bachelor’s degree in Human Resources from UTEP and am currently completing a master’s in Finance.
Thank you to Professors Mendívil, Anguiano, and all the others whom I remember fondly and with great admiration.
And I can’t forget Coach Arturo, our P.E. teacher and basketball coach. Thank you all for your patience, your guidance, and above all, the memories.

My education at Colegio Americano, both academic and artistic, has been essential to my professional life. It helped me develop a strong interest in the arts, languages, and international literature.
Likewise, the English proficiency I gained has been one of the most helpful tools in my work as a professor, scholar, and artist at various universities across the United States. Thank you, Colegio Americano!

Colegio Americano was my second home for about 13 years—from kindergarten through middle school. My classes were taught half in English and half in Spanish, and the results were evident early on.
After graduating from middle school, I never had to take English as a second language again—the tools I received at Colegio were enough to pursue my degree and master’s at UTEP.
I was part of the school from its early days in a private home. I witnessed its growth and took part in the groundbreaking ceremonies of two buildings, and saw changes from uniforms to school colors.
I saw the birth of the Hawks and was part of the first sports team, eventually becoming the Falcons.
I’m proud to have been part of the early years of Colegio Americano—and even prouder to see what it has become.
Once a Falcon, always a Falcon.
